Goh Chye Kee

Goh Chye Kee was born in 1956 and has been a full-time artist since 1990. He paints in watercolour, acrylic and oil, mainly on Singapore’s old and new street scenes and the Singapore River, a subject close to his heart.

The Singapore River has seen the growth of our financial hub centre from a single-standing building to a multitude of tall skyscrapers centralizing in the portland. Gone are the days when old bumboats thrive in the vibrant waters of this famous port. Treading through the old paths of Singapore, the imminence of the country's economic success is relived once again. We enjoy the fruits of our ancestors' labour through the abundance of luscious greenery present and the clear blue skies in the background.
