Caring For Your Artworks
Regular maintenance is highly recommended for your artwork to remain in good condition.
Here are a few helpful tips:
- Place the artwork in a well-ventilated area. Keep away from direct sunlight as it causes colours to fade due to excessive exposure to UV rays
- Avoid placing the work in an area where smoke frequents as it causes staining (e.g. kitchen or smoke room)
- Keep its surroundings dry as moisture leads to moulding. It could also cause the wood of the frame to soften which easily attracts termites
- We recommend stretching your oil painting as they are prone to cracking when rolled up over a long period
- Paper-based works should be mounted on rigid backing and framed to avoid damage from mishandling and dirt
Cleaning Methods:
- To clean your canvas works, gently dust off the surface with a soft brush *do not use a damp cloth as it can easily damage the work
- For paper-based works that are encased in glass, spray a light amount of cleaning solution onto a microfiber cloth. Gently wipe the glass and prevent any excess liquid from seeping in between the nooks of the frame.
