Singapore used to cultivate more than 220 species of native orchids. For the past 20 years, the Singapore Botanic Gardens has been home to orchid species.

Orchid production was one of the highest trade value in Singapore. Singapore was formerly known for its reputation for producing high-quality orchids and used to receiving awards at International flower shows.

Orchids are also a sign of good luck, longevity, fertility, love and beauty.
