*About work*

Bold, expressive strokes of black and grey rise across the paper, forming a rugged landscape of towering peaks and rocky outcrops. Lighter washes soften the distant forms, creating a sense of mist and atmospheric depth.

Call of the Mountain reflects Goh Beng Kwan’s grounding in traditional Chinese ink painting, while revealing the spontaneity of his individual brushwork. The strength of the darker strokes contrasts beautifully with the quiet expanses of untouched paper, giving the painting both a commanding presence and a sense of tranquillity.
