Keong Saik Road

$1,800.00 $2,000.00

Did you know that Keong Saik Road was named after a person? A businessman from Malacca, Tan Keong Saik was elected to the municipal commission in 1866 for his tremendous contributions

to the social and intellectual life of the Chinese community. Tan owned a number of houses along keong Saik Road.

Newly acquired in 2022 by our gallery, this piece by Lee Weng Fatt features Keong Saik Road, with pops of red. A double entendre of how the area used to be known as a titillating red-light district, it is now a gentrified hotspot location with award-winning restaurants and colourful, hipster cafes.
