A Brief History About Niven Road Singapore.

Niven Road is lined with conserved two-storey pre-war shophouses. The road is named after the first superintendent of the Botanic Gardens, Lawrence Niven. He was also the supervisor of the nutmeg plantation nearby.

Niven Road is also associated with the Sikhs of Singapore. A Sikh temple named Khalsa Dharmak Sabha can be found at the southern end of the road. The temple was built in 1936.
